One of the most authoratitive sites online at the moment is Squidoo - one I am sure you know and love. Squidoo has been around for yonks, and really led the pack when it came to self published, interactive web 2.0 content. Google has fallen in love, fallen out of love, and is now still back in a not so passionate embrace with Squidoo. Squidoo sites rank well. The top level domain has very high PR - PR8 - which puts it right up there. There are hundreds of thousands of fascinating websites, articles or lenses on Squidoo. Many if these mini web pages rank very well on the search engine results, and many are PR1, PR2, PR3 merely on the strength of the top level domain. Squidoo lenses should form part of your backlinking strategy. Build a lens, put some links back to your site. I am sure you have seem many Squidoo lenses on your travels around the internet.Did you know there is a simple way to getback links from otherpeoples relevant Squidoo lenses back to your site? Squidoo offers the function of creating links or lists of relevant links to be added to your lens. Many people do that, and it is a perfect opportunity to post your link on a relevant lens.Make sure you are not spamming. Many are not moderated, but do the right thing and keep your links relevant.
How do you find the lenses on which to drop your link?
Try this search term:
KWD "add to this list" site:squidoo.com
or
KWD site:squidoo.com + "0 points"
Both of these search terms will offer hundreds or thousands of lenses that you can check to see if they allow links to be added.
Backlinks are definitely SEO gold these days. I use Squidoo quite a bit as well as article marketing to get backlinks.
